Warranty Guidance

Understand what is covered, what is excluded and how to report an issue

This page provides general guidance only. The signed quotation, invoice, manufacturer documentation and handover record control the terms for a specific project.

01

Project-specific terms

Warranty duration and coverage should be stated in the accepted quotation, invoice, product documentation or handover record. Different materials and services may have different terms.

02

Possible workmanship coverage

Where expressly included, workmanship coverage may address installation defects attributable to the completed scope, such as loose fixings, avoidable joint failure or incorrect alignment.

03

Manufacturer coverage

Branded boards, tiles, insulation, lighting or accessories may be governed by the manufacturer's warranty, technical data and approved installation conditions.

04

Common exclusions

Water leakage, structural movement, impact damage, unauthorized alteration, pest activity, chemical exposure, abnormal humidity, building vibration and third-party electrical or HVAC work are commonly outside workmanship coverage.

05

Maintenance responsibilities

The owner should control leaks, ventilation, condensation, cleaning methods and access work. Heavy loads must not be suspended from ceiling components unless specifically designed for that purpose.

06

Making a service request

Provide the invoice or project reference, photographs, location, date the issue was noticed and a description of any recent leakage, repair or third-party work.

Before approving a project, ask for the exact material specification, warranty duration, claim procedure, exclusions and the party responsible for manufacturer warranty coordination.
